DJ Jess got his start in radio in 1990 on KUBE 93 Radio in Seattle, Wa. He was just a mixer at the time, then later became a radio personality.
After he graduated from art school, he left seattle and returned home to Fresno to become a graphic artist and club DJ.
While doing both, he was offered a radio job as a mixer at KKPW Power 93 The Party in Fresno. This is where he learned how to become a better on-air personality and imaging director.
He was later picked up to join the Q97 family in 1995, where he became the station's imaging director, mixer and on-air personality. He was also given the nickname "The Mixaholic" because he never stops mixing or producing music.
DJ Jess is on the air Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm, mixes his own 12 o'clock mix, the Drive at 5 mix, hosts and mixes for Club Q every Friday from 9pm to midnight, and his underground house show, "Club House," on Saturday from midnight to 2am.
