The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section 73.2080©(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO rule.  This report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following stations:

The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning August 1, 2012 to and including July 31, 2013.  The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this report contain the following information:


  1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Stations comprising the Station Employment Unit during the applicable period;
  2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080 C(1) (ii) of the new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number;
  3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the applicable period;
  4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the applicable period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and
  5. A list a brief description of the initiatives undertake pursuant to Section 73.2080©(2) of the FCC rules.


Sections 1, 2 and 3, which follow provide the required information.  Please note that the numbers listed on Section 2 under the column entitled “Full-Time Positions for Which this Source Was Utilized” refer to the number of the full-time job positions listed on Section 1.

On air announcements were broadcasted every month airing the following PSA that KSEQ is looking for organizations that regularly distribute information about employment opportunities to job applicants or have job applicants to refer.  If your organization would like to receive notification of job vacancies at our station please notify the Business Manager at our office telephone number.  Also stating KSEQ is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages minorities and females to apply.


EEOC Training

EEOC Training is ongoing with all information from the Federal Communications Commission read and processed immediately upon receipt.  The new FCC policies are reviewed and discussed quarterly with the General Manager and all Department Heads.  The reviews took place 9/6/2012, 12/9/2012, 3/21/2013, 6/20/2013. This information is given to the remaining staff through memos and job postings.


California Harassment Prevention Training, August 2012   

Biennially, the General Manager, Business Manager and Program Director participated in a 2-hour on-line Discrimination and Sexual Harassment training program. All other full time employees took a 1-hour course. Each course is presented by the California Chamber Of Commerce. These training programs are designed to teach employees how to recognize, avoid and report discrimination and harassment in the work place. All full time employees who completed this course received a certificate of completion which was placed in their respective personnel files.


Fresno State University Communications Department

Beginning 1/26/2013 the General Manager reached out to the Communications Department at Fresno State and developed a relationship.  This will be used in recruiting Interns as well as getting the word out about other job vacancies KSEQ might have.  Several applications/interviews for a recent Account Executive opening came from this contact.  This relationship can provide interns an opportunity for training in the various departments within the radio station.


Kid’s Day 2013 March 5, 2013

KSEQ participated in the 26th annual Kid’s Day.  An On-Air personality and the KSEQ street team helped sell special Kid’s Day newspapers on local area street corners.  All proceeds from the newspaper sales helped benefit the Children’s Hospital Of Central California. Local On-Air Announcers pre promoted the event with mentions on the air the day before.

Dinuba High School “Star Fest 2013” April 18, 2013

KSEQ attended a school wide event that encouraged and motivated all students to excel on the California State Standards testing. There was a very large diverse group of people who attended including many minorities.


Comcast Cares Day April 27, 2013

KSEQ helped promote and attended the Comcast Cares Day.  This event consisted of local Comcast employees and their families who volunteered their time to help improve local schools that have been affected by state wide budget cuts.


Anti-Drug Event – Fresno State April 29, 2013

“Thrills without Pills” event took place at the free speech area on the Fresno State campus.  KSEQ helped promote this event and made announcements on site.  The event was to bring awareness to prescription drug use and had several guest speakers. A very diverse group of roughly 2000 people attended including many minorities.


Autism Awareness Event May 19, 2013

KSEQ sponsored and help promote this fundraiser that was held at the Manchester Mall.  This was a community wide event that helped raise money for Autism Awareness and Exceptional Parents Unlimited.  There were multiple vendors and sponsors as well as over 2000 people in attendance throughout the day’s event. This was a very diverse group in age and ethnicity.


POM Wonderful Community Service Day June 4, 2013

This was a community service event that KSEQ took part in and helped in a local surrounding community.  Residents and local schools worked throughout the day to help beautify the area by painting, cleaning, building, etc.  Well over 500 people attended which included many minorities. PSA’s and On-Air Announcer mentions ran on KSEQ prior to the event.


California Health Collaborative June 20, 2013

This event helped promote healthy eating habits for families. Food donations were accepted for low income families. KSEQ ran On-Air PSA’s and Announcer mentions to pre promote the event. A KSEQ On-Air Announcer helped host the event for over three hours. A very diverse group of nearly 1500 including many minorities attended.
